I also did a set of embroidery hoops as my 'body of work' for this module:
I contemplated some sewn text and also cutting the fabric so only the bit IN the hoop was there - but was advised against it by a couple of people who saw them ... I still think there's something missing, but I'm handing them in this way - and will think about how to make them better over summer ...

It looks beautiful. The blue fabric with the flowers brought back memories, used something similar some time ago to make patchwork cushions

Drove past Birmingham yesterday. If I'd have thought of it I would have stopped off. But never fear, I shall probably be making many more of these cross-country drives, so there shall be multiple opportunities to say hi.

These and the organza pieces are wonderful - I think the 'text' is in the hands - they are like sign language.

I found you via Whip Up. These are really wonderful. So well done and graphicaly strong. Have you considered mounting each whole piece to a linen canvas just a teeny bit larger than your fabric squares?

Neat! I wouldn't cut the fabric either, however, you could pull the excess fabric to the back and tack it to itself so that it doesn't show.
Beautiful work! I like how you have a lot of white space. It makes the rest so much visually stronger.
These are gorgeous projects and a very fun technique.

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed these pieces, they remind me of the science themed stuff you did in london. I particularly like the wristwatch on a couple of them, somehow reminds me of all the locks and doors and technology stuff which is part of you. I can also see the link back to the embroydered chair you did. ITs so nice to be able to track the deveopment and also to appreciate the beauty.
Also how lovely that you get so many praising comments, it must serve as a great resource to encourage you.
